    Plate 10. In generally good condition with foxing at bottom and lower right margins, and a few tears along bottom edge. Print measures 11.625 x 15.375 inches, and is matted to overall 17 x 21 inches. Image area (measuring 10.125 x 13.125 inches) is toned/light-struck in a vertical striated pattern. Left side shows binding edge. Bottom pencil notation by Goodspeed's Book Shop reads: "From the First Edition of Alexander Wilson's Birds." Printed brown paper tape used as hinge with Goodspeed's name and address. Wilson's book on American birds was the most important work on American ornithology before Audubon.
