In 1928 one of the most listened to radio shows was the Amos and Andy Show and as with most popular events of that era, like Orphan Annie, Katzenjamer Kids, and Toonerville Trolly, toy and premiums were produced to promote the show. This 11 1/2" tall representation of the character Amos was made in 1930 and authorized by the creators of the show itself. Lightly touched up in several spots, this toy retains much of it's character and presence. Although not working it still has the key and spring. (usually sprung from winding too tight) When working the toy waddles back and forth while the eye shift. Roughness to the finish does not dtract from tis piece that I would rank in good to very good condition. Amos is a tough toy to find in any condition. It was made by the Louis Marx toy Co.
