Starting in 1929 Amos and Andy became the hit of the day. The radio sitcom featuring two white actors portraying two black characters was a centrl feature in everyday life. Everything stopped when the show was on the air. Represented here is the character of "Andy" in a tin wind-up toy by Louis Marx and copywrited by the actors themselves.Displaying in good to very good condition this toy is 11 1/2 inches tall. When wound he still moves slowly back and forth and waddles forward while his eyes move. Showing some wear to the surface this piece still has great display presence and is seldom found in "mint" condition because of it' popularity. (Why did those kids play with these toys!)If you'd like the pair, check the auction for "Amos" as well.

Please note: Due to the size and/or weight of this lot, there may be an additional shipping charge.
