    John James Audubon. The Birds of America, from Drawings Made in the United States and their Territories. New York and Philadelphia: E. G. Dorsey and J. B. Chevalier, 1840-1844. Octavo edition. 7 octavo volumes. 500 hand colored lithograph plates after Audubon by W. E. Hitchcock, R. Trembley and others. Printed by J. T. Bowen of Philadelphai (plates 1-135, 151-500) or George Endicott of New York (plates 136-150).

    'American Woodcock,' plate 352, volume six [and:] 'Wilsons Phalarope,' plate 341, volume six [and:] 'Red necked Grebe,' plate 480, volume seven.

    Each plate is uncut, displaying the gilt edges and binding edge, and measure 10.25 inches x 6.75 inches, except for plate 352 which has been trimmed at the binding and now measures 10.25 inches x 6.5 inches.

    Very minor toning. A tiny closed tear to plate 352. Near fine condition.
