    John James Audubon. Six Bird Prints. Six hand-colored engravings from the octavo edition of The Birds of America (New York and Philadelphia: 1840-1844), including: American Golden-crested Kinglet, Plate 132. [and:] White-breasted Nuthatch, Plate 247. [and:] Belted Kingfisher, Plate 255. [and:] Audubon's Woodpecker, Plate 265. [and:] Sanderling Sandpiper, Plate 338. [and:] Roseate Tern, Plate 437.


    All are in very good condition. All are toned along the edges and have light penciled notations. American Golden-crested Kinglet has small tears on three of the corners, the upper right corner is taped over a tear, some foxing, and mounting tape to reverse. White-breasted Nuthatch and Belted Kingfisher both have mounting tape to reverse. Audubon's Woodpecker has stitching holes along the right edge. Sanderling Sandpiper has two small tears (one in the upper right and one in the upper left corners), some foxing, and mounting tape to reverse. Roseate Tern has a very small piece of the upper left corner torn away and has mounting tape to reverse. Prints measure 6.75 x 10.5 inches, 6.25 x 10.25 inches, 6.25 x 10.25 inches, 6.75 x 10.75 inches, 10.25 x 6.5 inches, and 6 x 10 inches, respectively.
