    Description

Henri Manuel Signed Photographs. An arresting pair of mounted photographs by noted black photographer Henri Manuel circa 1925 of a wreath-laying (likely on Armistice Day) at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the foot of the Arc-de-Triomphe in Paris. The main participants are all black including a man in top hat bearing a very large wreath festooned with American flags. The second image shows another man laying the wreath at the foot of the Tomb. Both photographs have been signed in pencil by Manuel and bear his blind-embossed stamp on the mount. Each measures 9" x 6.5" and 12" x 9.5" overall. Some tears and cracks to mount with minor losses, photos still crisp and fine with only minimal wear. An important set of images.
