    George Edwards (1694-1773). Four Prints.

    Two hand-colored engravings from Gleanings of Natural History, Exhibiting Figures of Quadrupeds, Birds, Insects, Plants, &c. Most of which have not, till now, been either Figured or Described (London: 1758-1764), including: Zebra mas, sive Asinus sylvestris Africanus, Drawn from a stuff'd Skin in the Royal College of Physicians, London, Page [Plate] 222 [and:] Zebra femina, sive Asina sylvestris Africana, drawn from the living animal belong to his Royal Highness the Prince of Wales, Page [Plate] 223. Both are in very good condition with general toning to paper, darker towards the edges, light foxing, and tears, chipping and stitching holes along the bottom edge. Mounting tape to the reverse. Both have light penciled notations, and both measure 11.5 x 9.25 inches.

    Two hand-colored engravings from A Natural History of Uncommon Birds, and of some other Rare and Undescribed Animals, Quadrupeds, Reptiles, Fishes, Insects, &c. (London: 1743-1751), including: Frontispiece, Georgii Edvardi Ornithologia Nova. [and:] Itinera Varia Avctoris, Page [Plate] 105. Both are in very good condition with general toning to paper, darker towards the edges. The Frontispiece has foxing and tears, chipping and stitching holes along the right edge, and single small tears along each of the other edges. Both have light penciled notations, and both measure 9.25 x 11.75 inches.
