    Garth Williams. SIGNED/INITIALED. Three Signed or Initialed Pieces from Little House in the Big Woods and One List in Garth Williams' Hand. This lot includes: One dust jacket only for Laura Ingalls Wilder's Little House in the Big Woods (1953) with $2.75 price on front flap and "No. 9648" on rear flap, signed in full in ink by Garth Williams on front panel above his printed name; minor rubbing to folds. [and:] One printed proof copy of an alternate version of the cover art, folded to an image area measuring approximately 10.5 x 14.25 inches; initialed in pencil by Williams in lower right corner. [and:] One printed proof of the illustration in the "Christmas" chapter, later re-tooled for the cover art, measuring 8.5 x 14 inches, signed in full in pencil by Williams at lower left. [and:] One sheet of paper containing Garth Williams' handwritten notes about illustrations for Little House in the Big Woods, written in red ink in his distinctive handwriting, measuring 8.875 x 6.5 inches.
