Castleford Teapot and Undertray with Silver Dollar Eagle Design. Lightly glazed teapot and undertray generically labeled Castleford. Produced in the Federal period in England for export to the U.S. The design elements are molded, highlighted by blue lines. One side depicts an symbolic female figure with an olive branch and instruments of war. The other side has an American eagle patterned after the reverse design of silver dollars of the 1798-1808 period. The bottom of the teapot is impressed "22". The teapot is 9" wide and 5.75" tall. The rare undertray is 7.25" x 5.5" and has a simple molded border of flowers. Outside of a tiny triangular chip on the bottom of the lid (not viewable when displayed), it is in great condition.
