"Fisherman" Engraved Large Open Face Pocket Watch Circa 1900. The back of this impressive 2.75" diameter watch contains a scene of a solitary man wearing a hat and sitting on his boat with a line in the water. He looks as if he hasn't a care in the world. The fisherman is done in repoussé and is signed "Frainier." There is a circular border of swimming fishes just outside and another decorative Art Nouveau style border on the outside which is carried over to the front bezel. The unmarked movement has a blank cover- there is no indication of a maker anywhere on the watch. The bold Arabic-numeraled dial is marked "Anti-Magnetique" with gold hands and a seconds dial at the 6:00 position. It is crown-wound, set with a push-button mechanism, and is in fine running condition. There is some light wear on the case. A great item for either the professional angler or anyone who has spent a lazy afternoon with a fishing pole and a picnic basket.
