    Description

Scarce "Morgan" Saddle together With Two Period Bits and Headstalls. The "Morgan" type Civil War era cavalry saddle with rawhide covered wooden tree, quilted and decoratively stitched seat. Sold with associated stirrup leathers and mismatched period wooden stirrups with leather covers. Also with two unmarked Civil War era curb bits and leather head stalls. One example a brass face bit, the headstall with "target" roundel rosettes, the other a curb bit with plain round nickel-plated brass rosettes. Typical of those used by Southern cavalrymen in the early stages of the war. Left skirt missing, right skirt missing lower portion. Otherwise overall very good, with all pieces just showing honest wear and use. Good example of this generic form heavily used by Confederate cavalrymen and officers.
