    Roman Inlaid Bronze Lid or Boss
    Eastern Mediterranean.
    Ca. 4th century A.D.
    2-15/16"D.
    Heavy bronze disk having two incised male figures and two lions in combat scene, each with finely executed detailing, enhanced with applied silver. A raised spindle in the center terminates with a knob end, four perforation holes for attachment, one still with original bronze pin. Dark green patina, excellent condition. A fine example.
