    Rare U.S. Model 1859 McClellan Civil War Saddle and Bridle Ensemble. Fine example of a Civil War Union army cavalry saddle, complete with rawhide covered tree, ornate original hooded stirrups, carbine boot, saddlebags and U.S. Model 1859 cavalry bit with re-leathered headstall. The saddle bears its original die-struck brass oval maker's label reading: P. Ambler & S./3/ Bridgeport, Conn., located on the left pommel, slightly obscured by leather strapping. Brass shield-shaped escutcheon on pommel marked:11 1/2-inch/Seat: It is thought to be one of the only known examples of this firm's saddle to exist. Condition: Good as configured. Leather showing wear and checking commensurate with age of saddle. Minor losses to rawhide on tree. Bedroll leathers, headstall leather , "Y' straps and stirrup straps are later replacements. No reins and cinch present. Requires 3rd Party Shipping.
