Rare Confederate Pattern 1853 Enfield Rifle Belt and Brass "Snake" Pattern Buckle Ensemble. Nice Confederate 4-piece brass buckle. The hook being an "S" shaped element with snake's head on each end. Very popular with cavalry guerrillas. Purchased from a Northern Virginia estate together with an Enfield rifle attesting to its usage. The waist belt sports the type snake which some call a "duck head" as it does resemble that entity. But it is indeed a snake, correctly referred to by some collectors as the "King George" style snake. Condition: Fine with light age wear, no red rot or checking, the buckle ensemble with nice olive colored patina..

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
