    Description

Rare Civil War Confederate Locally Manufactured Infantry Cartridge Box. Unmarked box, typically patterned after the .54 caliber size box, with internal compartment and tarred canvas inner pouch under outer flap. Reverse with loops for belt or shoulder straps. The front flap oddly with three-hole perforations apparently for attachment of an oval belt plate. Distinctive pewter finial on bottom with two iron buckles for sling attachment. Originally made with rollers, one roller missing, but the buckle is intact and in place. Overall in generally very good sound, pliable condition. Latch tab torn and some small pieces torn and missing from the inner flaps. Still a nice honest example of a very rare Confederate, locally manufactured, infantry cartridge box.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
