    Lot of Two Civil War Era Canteens. Comprising: 1) U.S. Model 1858 "Bullseye" Canteen. Of galvanized tin construction, the sides die-struck with concentric rings and soldered edge loops for a sling. Pewter spout faintly marked: *ALBERT DORFF* Cork stopper with finger ring and security chain. 2) Model 1858 Full Brown Wool Covered Canteen. Standard pattern smooth surface canteen with full brown-grey wool covering and period cotton or linen strap. Unmarked pewter spout with cork and security chain. Condition: 1) Good. Showing age wear, minor dents and patina. 2) Good. Surface of brown wool covering showing some wear and minor mothing to surface. Sling soiled and showing period wear. Nice pair of canteens, both most likely saw service in the Civil War.
