    Description

Ancel E. Nunn, "Dreamscapes: A Portfolio of Eight Paintings," Shearer Publishing Company, 1982. Each plate signed by the artist. No. 1126 of 1250. Born in Seymour, Texas, Ancel Nunn was making art as a child and like so many Texas artists, he studied under renowned Texas Regionalist Alexandre Hogue. In 1944 as a 16-year-old, he won an honorable mention for a dry point etching, which was exhibited at the Carnegie Gallery in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. One of his watercolors won first place there the following year. With meticulous style and subject matter like Andrew Wyeth, Nunn paints and prints surreal images of the plains of Texas. Courtesy of Fran Vick, Dallas The high bid placed by via mail, fax, the Internet or telephone will be entered as the opening bid for the lot during the live portion of the silent auction.
