    Description

10 Antique Plates of Early English Swords. From The British Army: Its Origin, Progress, and Equipment by Sir Sibbald David Scott, London and New York: Cassell, Petter, and Galpin, 1868. Each plate measures 5.5 by 8.85 inches. All plates are in very good condition with the usual toning to the paper and a few areas of foxing. The group consists of expertly rendered detailed drawings of a variety of English swords, rapiers, claymores and accessories fifteenth through seventeenth century. The set is ideal for framing either singularly or collectively and would make a handsome addition to an office, home library or study.
