Old King Cole Cigar Label After Maxfield Parrish Mural in New York City. Full color lithographed 9.75" x 6" inner label with gold-embossed accents. The amiable nursery rhyme monarch is here enthroned under a pediment bearing his name. Cole is flanked by two court jesters in flaming red outfits and has two children at his feet. This label's art is slightly different in minor details from Parrish's celebrated 1909 mural of the same subject. Maxfield Parrish was undoubtedly the "king" of early twentieth century commercial art, and this label is a fine example of his captivating work. Subtle diagonal crease from top to right edges, else excellent condition. This label is listed as one of the "InStone 100" blue chip cigar labels.
