    Description

Joe F. Willard Cigar Inner Label Proof by Heywood, Strasser & Voigt Lithographers, New York, five-color, 10" x 7". Ethnic humor was all the rage 100 years ago and brought temporal fame to its more talented practitioners. Mr. Willard, shown here in real life, is flanked by two demeaning "Dutch" characters he played on stage. Printer's color bars along lower margin, register marks throughout. Tiny split along top edge with pencil notation in lower right corner. This label has been encapsulated and graded VF 6 by GCLGS. From The Richard Revolinski Collection.
