Description

President Grover Cleveland Cigar Label by F. Herpenheimer's Sons of New York. A patriotic-theme lithographed 4.5" x 4.5" outer label using many of the standard American icons to encourage the patriotic smoker to choose this brand: the eagle with an "E Pluribus Unum" banner in its mouth, the stars and stripes, an olive branch, and, of course, President Grover Cleveland. Cleveland (1837-1908) was the 22nd and 24th president of the United States, the first and only to serve two non-consecutive terms and the only Democrat elected to the office between 1860 and 1912. This label, with its handsome portrait of Cleveland, should appeal to both political memorabilia and cigar label art collectors. Very fine condition with one small flaw near Cleveland's nose.
