    Description

Neptuno Cigar Label by Schumacher & Ettlinger, New York. Full color lithographed 9.5" x 5.75" inner label. The art here carries an 1884 copyright and is unusually liberated for the Late Victorian era. A bare-chested and decidedly sexy personification of Cuba presents a tobacco leaf to a soggy King Neptune rising from the deep. In the distance is a harbor, possibly New York, sporting an early suspension bridge. Crease on upper right corner, else very fine condition. This label is listed as one of the "InStone 100" blue chip cigar labels.
