Andy Gump Tops 'Em All Cigar Label. An amusing lithographed 4.75" x 4.75" outer label with gold embossed highlights. Andy Gump was the "star" of the popular comic strip about a totally ordinary middle class family, The Gumps, led by a blowhard husband and father named Andy. The strip, created by Sidney Smith, ran for 42 years, from 1917 until 1959, though its peak was in the late 1910s and early 1920s when the animated shorts and two-reel comedies were being released (directed by Norman Taurog, later the director of many of Elvis Presley's movies). That helps date this label to that general period and speculation that it was possibly tied in to Andy Gump's campaign for congress in 1922 or for president in 1924. Near mint condition. This label is listed as one of the "InStone 100" blue chip cigar labels.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
