    Description

    Lot of Two Excavated Civil War Artillery Shells. Comprising: 1) U.S. Hotchkiss 3-inch Artillery Shell. Excavated. Nice flame grooves. Has brass fuze intact, but missing the lead sabot band. Good shape. Has been professionally cleaned and coated. Deactivated. 2) Confederate 3-inch Artillery Shell. Excavated from the Battle of Stone's River, Tennessee. Condition: 1) Good. Showing age wear and pitting overall. 2) Missing a portion of one side of nose section, but doesn't really detract from the shell. Fuze grooves strong and visible. Missing the copper sabot. Both have been professionally cleaned and coated.
