Cody & Oakley: Two Souvenir Shotgun Shells from Circa 1901 Wild West Show. One used, a 12-gauge, and one unused, a 16-gauge. On each has been written in period ink "Buffalo Bill's Wild West / Keithsburg / 1901". On the 16-gauge is also written "Annie Oakley". The show visited Keithsburg, Illinois, in July 1901 and presumably this is where these were obtained. 1901 was Annie's last year with Buffalo Bill's Wild West and presumably one or both shells were obtained at that time. Oakley used both 12-gauge and 16-gauge shotguns in performances. Excellent condition and clearly readable.
