    Description

"Killed by Indians": A Wonderful Wooden Grave Marker Found Along a Nebraska Wagon Train Route. This unique, richly eroded and patinated maker dates from the era of the 1860s & 1870s when wagon trains crossing the Plains came under frequent attack. While its exact provenance is unknown, it is accompanied by a very old, soiled and flaked placard which purportedly accompanied the grave maker during an exhibit many decades ago. Measuring 11.5" x 21.5", this evocative relic has been beautifully and expensively custom frame to 21" x 34".
