    Description

Bore Breast Plate, Strike-A-Light Bag, and Tacked Belt, c. 1850. This 12" x 17", traditional breastplate is made from Buffalo bone hairpipe and brass pony beads strung between thick strips of leather on tanned hide strings. There are also small, flat bone beads included in the neck rope. The 6-1/2", thread sewn, rawhide strike-a-light bag is decorated with glass seed beads and metal jingle cones. Along with brass tacks, the 34" long by 3/4" wide leather belt is also decorated with glass seed beads. The breastplate is missing a bead from one broken strand and the belt is missing several strands of beads near the buckle and many tacks throughout, else all three pieces are in very good condition commensurate with age and use.
