    Description

Very Cool Victorian Beer Advertising Broadside, one page, 8" x 13.75", Hartford, Connecticut, circa mid-19th century. An engraved American eagle illustrates this sheet touting Woodward's Hops Beer. The manufacturer "Respectfully recommends to the friends of Temperance and the Public generally, his very superior Hop Beer, as a delightful, pleasant and wholesome beverage." He further states that, "Hops are an aromatic grateful bitter, and beneficial in cases of Dyspepsia and indigestion." Very convincing stuff. Light soiling, else very fine condition. From the collection of Henry E. Luhrs.
