    Description

    Continental Cubes Pocket Tobacco Tin. This beautiful lithographed tin container was manufactured for the American Tobacco Company and held eight ounces of "Continental Cubes" tobacco. It is 6" tall and 4.5" wide, slightly curved to accommodate placement in a rear pocket. The front and back depict George Washington, standing in his military uniform, reading a map or dispatch. The sides read: "Highest Grade Granulated Plug Tobacco. Ready for the Pipe. Cool and Fragrant. Will Not Bite the Tongue." One side has an applied Tax Paid Stamp label with portrait of John Quincy Adams dating from 1902. It is in great shape.
