    Description

Framed Tex & Patches Colt Patent Firearms Advertising Print by Frank Schoonover. Lithograph print on canvas. Measuring 32 x 18 1/2-inches, does not appear to have been cut. COLT'S PATENT FIRE ARMS MANUFACTURING CO. / HARTFORD, CONNECTICUT across the bottom, signed by the artist.
Condition: Good. Showing finish loss in area from poor lacquer refinish. Noticeable tear along left side of print. Few scattered cracks and creases. Frame showing wear.

David Mamet's Notes:Beautifully framed. Used to hang in my cabin in Vermont. I was always taken by the small stature of Tex, the Marshall, as measured against the (known) length of the Peacemaker he wears. It would seem to put him round five-two, but Col. Colt, as we know, made all men equal.
