    Description

Dazzling and Colorful "Rub No More" Advertising Cloth. Measuring approximately 31.5" x 30", this colorful advertising litho on oil cloth harkens the viewer back to a time when advertising was just another form of artistic expression. Titled "RUB-NO-MORE FROLIC", the central image of the piece is a mama elephant bathing her little baby elephant in a wooden tub of water and "Rub No More", a water-softening wash powder made by the Summit City Soap Works in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The caption on the tub reads "HE LOVES IT SO", and the baby elephant sure looks like he does! The canvas shows three horizontal folds and one main vertical fold, with mild creasing and crimping throughout. The middle horizontal fold is tender, but not yet separated, and the edges show some rubbing and thread wear. There is mild staining to the left side of the piece, but it does not detract from the overall appeal of this handsome sign. This is a phenomenal display piece of vintage advertising fit for any collector of late 19th-century advertising textiles.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
