    Description

ALEXANDER – "THE MAN WHO KNOWS" – ORIGINAL POSTER. Alexander the Great (born Claude Alexander Conlin, in 1880) was a master at procuring publicity through stunts and advertising and his fascinating posters were an integral part of his strategy. While adept at some conventional magic, he became world-famous for his "psychic" abilities, establishing his reputation (and a huge fortune) by answering questions "mentally sent" to him by audience members. This vibrant 27 x 41"one-sheet poster features bold colors and graphics, and dates to 1910. Pleasing display condition overall, with light original fold lines as issued. Several edge tears, and one interior tear. Could be linen backed to appear near mint.Otherwise, crisp.  (# This item may require additional shipping charges).

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
