    Description

Business Record and Two Pieces of Ephemera from 1886. The receipts (but not the gate receipts) for an element of the Wild West's summer season at Erastina is a unique hand-written business record. Along with this are two never-before-encountered subscription tip sheets by a horse-racing tout named W. E. Harding. One is dated September 3, 1886; the other is dated September 6. What distinguishes them is the bold advertisement for Buffalo Bill Wild West, surely an early example of cleverly targeted marketing. This lot is part of the Ed Goodman Collection. This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
