12.25" x 18.75". Light folds and small mounting holes at the corners, else very fine. Lippincott's Monthly Magazine was a 19th century literary magazine published in Philadelphia from 1868 to 1915. The magazine published original works, general articles, and literary criticism, including several notable authors of the day: Arthur Conan Doyle, Rudyard Kipling, Oscar Wilde, and Willa Cather. The artist, Will Carqueville lived in Chicago where he had his own lithographic press and designed posters for Lippencott's as well as other American literary magazines. His work is classically American: clean, stylish, simple, and direct.
