    Description

Heinz Noble & Co. Horseradish Dish and Spoon. It was 1869 and Henry John Heinz was 25 years old. His first product was horseradish, packed in clear jars so the consumer could see that he didn't use fillers. After horseradish came pickles, sauerkraut and vinegar, delivered by horse-drawn wagons to grocers in and around Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Tomato catsup came along in 1875 and Heinz is still going strong today. This charming duo represents the horseradish unit of Heinz and measures 5.5" tall and the spoon measures 4.5".The top of the dish has a matching lid with a small glass horse head on top. The Heinz Noble logo is embossed into the underside of the lid. The dish itself bears the word Horse Radish on both sides. The spoon at one time no doubt had a decorative handle but the end is no longer present. It bears a clean break. The bowl portion of the spoon is still intact and 4 inches of spoon as well.
