John Glenn Signed Vintage NASA "Type One" Silver Spacesuit Photo, S-61-2520. An 8" x 10" glossy B&W photo, with purple ink caption on verso, of Glenn examining his flight gear in a full-length mirror prior to a simulated space flight at Langley. Excellent.Before his historic 1962 orbital flight, Glenn trained extensively at NASA's Langley Research Center, where engineers conducted simulated spaceflights to prepare him for the rigors of orbit. These simulations used dynamic flight simulators and capsule mockups to replicate spacecraft behavior and reentry conditions. Glenn's performance in these demanding tests helped refine Mercury procedures and ensured the success of Friendship 7.
