Description

John F. Kennedy: His Personal Early 1950s Phone Directory from his Days as a U.S. Congressman. On the flyleaf Kennedy neatly printed his name and Bowdoin Street address in Boston as well as his local phone number, La 3-6178. Listed are his Boston and Washington DC offices and numbers for close associates such as his father, brother Robert, and Dave Powers. Also to be found are phone numbers for businesses he frequented: Beacon Hill Pharmacy, Beacon Hill Market, Brooks Brothers (his personal contact there was Mr. Snow), etc.

Inserted into the book are a list of expenses for cleaning his Boston apartment, initialed "OK-J.K. 1/25/52," and two effusive letters of admiration from Greek Americans (these may have resulted from Congressman Kennedy's staunch support of free Greeks in their battle with the Communists and leftists for control of that country). A unique JFK artifact with letter of authentication from Evelyn Wood. Lincoln's typed letter to Robert White is also accompanied by her hand-written draft. Ex-Robert White Collection. 5"x 8".
