Description
Very Rare C. Sharps & Co. Percussion Pistol Rifle.Serial no. 476 [upper tang], .38 caliber, 27 1/2-inch barrel with fixed front and rear sights. Blued finish. Receiver marked: C. SHARPS & CO. PHILADA PA. Smooth walnut straight stock and fore-end. German silver crescent buttplate and grip cap. Hinged patchbox to right side of stock.
Note: According to Flayderman [5F-071] only approximately 600 of these were made, even less in the German silver style.
Condition: Very good as an old refurbish. Finish primarily a dark grey patina with signs of handling wear and patches of pitting. Scattered scuffs, dings and scratches present to wood. Small crack to right side of stock, just behind receiver. Action good. Moderately pitted bore.
