Dashiell Hammett et. al. Modern Tales of Horror. London: Victor Gollancz, 1932. First British edition, first impression (published in the U.S. under the title Creeps By Night). Octavo. 189 x 125 mm. 448 pages. Bound in black publisher's cloth, spine lettered in red, likely married dust jacket. Dust jacket browned with scattered staining, light chipping along edges with losses at head and foot of spine affecting text, small paper repair to rear flap with slight loss, flap edges creased, ink stain from ownership inscription on inner front flap. Cloth exceptionally clean and bright, light edgewear, head and foot of spine slightly pushed. Foxing and light dusting to text block edges, contemporary ownership inscription to front free endpaper with pasted publisher's errata, booksellers notations to front endpapers, scattered foxing to edges with light browning. Very good in good dust jacket.
