Franklin D. Roosevelt as Governor-Elect of New York, one page, quarto, Fidelity and Deposit Company of Maryland letterhead, with terrific personal content where FDR acknowledges that he too is a "collector." The letter from FDR is dated December 15, 1928, the month after his election as the Governor of New York, to Mr. Edward B. Tracy of Waterbury, Connecticut, from his 49 East 65th Street, New York City address. FDR writes: "Dear Mr. Tracy:/ I am very glad to send you my autograph at the bottom of this letter./ I am, also, a collector, but I go in for stamps and Naval documents./ Sincerely yours,/ Franklin D. Roosevelt." A fabulous letter where FDR acknowledges his own proclivities as a collector, but more in line with collecting stamps and Naval documents, shortly after his election as Governor of New York.
