Civil War Camp Chairs and Officers' Camp Bed Identified to Dr. Charles Edwin S. McKee, Surgeon in the 3rd Maryland Volunteer Infantry, Potomac Home Brigade. Includes: (1) Two folding wooden camp chairs of identical design with carpet seats and "3 MD. INF. PHB / DR. C. E. McKEE" stenciled in black paint on the back side of the top rail of each example. Both chairs are in very good, functioning condition. (2) Civil War officers' folding camp bed, measuring 76" long, 30" wide and standing 24" tall when assembled. Wood frame with wire mesh cushion base. Stenciled in black paint along one side is "DR. C. McKEE SURGEON PHB NO. 60 3RD MARYLAND INF". The camp bed is in excellent, functioning condition. Charles McKee enlisted on February 15, 1862 as a surgeon. He was commissioned into the Field and Staff of the 3rd Maryland PHB Infantry. He mustered out as a brevet Lt. Colonel on March 13, 1865. After the war McKee served for a time as the mayor of Hagerstown.
