Charles Evans Hughes: Union League Badge. The Union League of Philadelphia was founded during the Civil War to support the Union cause and the Lincoln administration. It still exists today and has supported Republican candidates during its existence. This cloth covered 1ΒΌ" button with Whitehead and Hoag back paper has their seal, stamped in gold. The two attached ribbons read: "Campaign Committee 1916". It was likely used in support of Charles Evans Hughes.
