Description
Lady Bird Johnson's Staffordshire Mother Hubbard and Dog Porcelain figure, Benefiting Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. This storybook figure, brought to life for 18th century children by Staffordshire, is a near excellent example. Standing 10-inches tall, the figure retains 90% of its original paint and surface. The bottom of the base shows normal wear and a gold decorative line along the edge is worn. This figure was in Lady Bird Johnson's bedroom for many years. This lot will be accompanied by a letter of authenticity signed by Lynda Johnson Robb.A full 100% of the net proceeds will benefit the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center at the University of Texas at Austin, in honor of the 2012 Centennial of Lady Bird Johnson's birth.
