Large Antique American Clip-Point Bowie Knife Marked: Rose, New York. Having a large, 10 5/8-inch clip-point blade with 3-inch back edge. Faintly marked on left side of blade: Rose/New York. Flat German silver crossguard of ovoid form with ball finials. Plain German silver ferrule. One-piece antique ivory grip with vacant rectangular escutcheon. Clamshell pattern German silver pommel cap with peened end. Contained in period unmarked German silver scabbard with throat and integral German silver belt clip. Condition: Good to very good. Blade showing wear, areas of pitting and minor sharpening. Grip a possible period replacement. Scabbard with wear and age patina.
