Apollo 9 Flown American Flag Originally from the Personal
Collection of Mission Commander James McDivitt, Signed and
Certified, with His Detailed illustrated Signed Certificate of
Authenticity. A 6" x 4" cloth U.S. flag that was carried aboard
the third manned Apollo mission, March 3-13, 1969, with crewmembers
James McDivitt, Dave Scott, and Rusty Schweickart. McDivitt has
signed on two lower white stripes: "Flown on Apollo 9/ Jim
McDivitt". The signed illustrated COA from Jim McDivitt reads,
in full: "I certify that this 6 x 4 American flag was flown onboard
Apollo 9, March 3-13, 1969, and is from my personal collection. I
have written 'Flown on Apollo 9' on the white stripe directly below
the blue canton, and signed my name on the next white stripe."
Flown flags from Apollo 9 are surprisingly scarce. Excellent.
