.416 Rigby Merkel Safari Grade Double Rifle.Serial no. 16038. .416 Rigby. 23 ½-inch barrels with matted, ½-inch wide full length rib with raised section at muzzle and as a quarter rib with standing sight with folding leaf. Polished sculpted reinforced boxlock action engraved with African game scenes and bold foliate scroll. Extractor. Side clips. Disc-set strikers. Intercepting safety. Cocking indicators. Non automatic safety. Greener cross bolt third fastener. Checkered pistolgrip stock of figured walnut with a recoil bolt at the head. Hard rubber grip cap and butt plate. Sling swivels. Data: Proof: German, Nitro, .416 Rigby. Stock Dimensions: Pull: 14 ¼ inches. Weight:11 pounds, 8 ounces.
Condition: Excellent, showing very little use. Gun shows 99% bluing. Excellent bores. Wood shows few light marks. Stock shows a Zebra pattern in the finish at the butt.
