$1 on 15¢ Scarlet (C2), tied by Jun 11 St. John's machine cancel on flown by Alcock and Brown on the first non-stop transatlantic flight, addressed to London, England, backstamped "London - EC, J 8, 17 Ju, 19" distribution c.d.s.; light oily mounting stains in top corners, one affecting the stamp, otherwise Very Fine and quite rare with a London backstamp.
