Hugo Eckener Typed Letter Signed, " Dr. Eckener" One page, 8.0" x 9.0", Friedrichshafen, Germany, July 25,1936 to Edward H. Snow, Ardmore, Pennsylvania. Dr. Hugo Eckener, (1868-1954), was President of the Zeppelin Company and builder of the "Graf Zeppelin", which, in 1929, became the first airship to circumnavigate the globe. His letter acknowledges an earlier correspondence from Snow. Bold signature, light even browning, Very Fine condition. Lot includes a postal cover carried by the Graf Zeppelin to the United States. Postmarked at New York City on October 2, 1933; it bears two U.S. 50-cent stamps that celebrate the "Century of Progress Flight" by featuring a zeppelin. The cover also has two imprints related to the flight. Fine condition. Both items are matted to an overall size of 13.0" x 19.0". Accompanied by LOA from PSA/DNA.
