[Alexis de Tocqueville]. A Period Fair Copy of a Tocqueville Letter. One page, 5.25" x 8", in French, n.p., n.d. De Tocqueville (1805-1859) was a French social historian who toured the United States in 1831 and recorded his impressions of the fledgling nation in his landmark Democracy in America. Smoothed folds; patches of light staining throughout. Mounting remnant along the left edge (on the verso).
