Description

Nicolo Paganini Autograph Letter Signed. One page, 7 ½ x 8 ¾ inches; Rouen; October 17, 1832. A letter in French to poet and author Marceline Debordes-Valmore sending his praises on her writing. He writes, "The sublime thoughts that you express with such energy through your verse will remain imprinted on my heart through eternity." He signs, "Nicolo Paganini, filled with admiration to the French Corinna, Marceline Valmore." Addressed in Paganini's hand on the verso and docketed by Valmore. Double glazed with a portrait engraving of Paganini to the overall size of 19 ½ x 16 inches.

Marceline Debordes-Valmore was a celebrated writer in her time and is credited with being one of the founders of French Romantic poetry.

Condition: Flattened folds, light toning and scattered foxing. Not examined out of the frame.
